Ethan’s House

We got to spend some time with our awesome friends Pat & Heidi while we were in Arizona. Their little boy Ethan is growing up so fast! Of course anytime we see him we have to break out the camera for a few snapshots. It was an eventful couple of hours let me tell you! You’ll notice three different “outfits” in these photos. This little guy is into everything!

First off we’ve got the Christmas outfit for a super quick holiday card shot.

Next, the monkey suit! Ethan hates his monkey costume and so Heidi never got any pictures of him on Halloween, he was that upset! Well she suited him up once again so that we could get a quick shot of him. You can’t see much of his face but it doesn’t take much to tell that he’s pissed!

Ahhh, out of the monkey suit and into comfy clothes diaper.

I love this series of shots! While mom & dad are caught up in conversation, Ethan makes his move!

John, Bethany, Cody & Jace

We had a fun Freestyle Portrait Session with these guys at Rotary Park in Lake Havasu City.  Jace was a total ham for the camera and I just loved watching how much he looks up to his big brother.  Here are a few from their session.

A Family Affair

Last weekend my dad flew Mark & I over to LA so that we could have the chance to visit family before we headed back to Colorado.  On Sunday we had breakfast with my uncle and cousin at my most favorite place, The Black Cow, yum!  Following breakfast we spent some time at the Montrose farmer’s market where my Aunt Jamie sells her handmade jewelry every weekend.  I love getting to see all her jewelry and watch the crowd that she draws!  We try to make it to the farmer’s market whenever we’re in town but this particular weekend was extra special.  My grandpa, who lives in Oregon, is a very talented woodworker.  Jamie’s booth now features a table called “Grandpa’s Corner” featuring some of my grandpa’s awesome creations.  It was so cool to see how many people were drawn to his beautiful handmade birdhouses, pens, wine stoppers and more.  I couldn’t help but snap a few shots to share here on the blog.

By the way, I’ve heard through the grapevine that we have a few Bank of America blog readers out in California.  I just wanted to say “Hi!” to all of you and thanks for reading!

Grandpa’s Corner

Kaia!

I am so excited to share with you our newest addition!  Yesterday we adopted another dog from the Western Arizona Humane Society, the same place we adopted Cozmo from three years ago.  I thought life was good last week and now that we have her I think it can’t get any better.  We are absolutely in love with her!  Her and Cozmo are quickly becoming best buddies!

Here she is!

Her most favorite position!

Such a lover!

And, of course, Cozmo!

Rebecca & Jesse (Part Two)

We’ve had an amazing time while in Arizona for the last few weeks.  Stay tuned for many more photos from our trip and some exciting news!  For now, here is part two of Rebecca & Jesse’s engagement portrait session.  Our second shoot was such fun!  They brought along their adorable dogs Kaya & Kelsey to play on the beach.  Here are just few of my favorites:

I just love this action shot that Mark caught!

We finished up the session with an incredible sunset.

Rebecca & Jesse (Part One)

After many e-mails back and forth over the last few months, we finally met our clients Rebecca & Jesse whose wedding we’ll be shooting next May.  They chose two awesome locations for their engagement portraits and so we ended up doing two sessions with them last Friday.  The first was out in the middle of the desert at the Desert Bar.  This place has been around forever and is really quirky and fun.  It’s literally a bar out in the middle of the desert.  The owner is an interesting guy and only allows people on his property on the weekends but Rebecca managed to get special permission just for us.   This guy told Rebecca “If you show up and I walk out with my gun, just remind me who you are.”  Luckily, he remembered us!  We ended up having a  blast, especially since we had the whole entire place to ourselves!

Since I have so many favorites, today’s post is just of their first session.  I’ll post their second session next week.

Cindi, Trevor & Bullet

On Sunday we met up with Cindi, Trevor and their dog Bullet for their annual family portrait. This is the fourth year in a row that we’ve taken their family portraits. I love how when we show up Bullet knows it’s picture time and she’s ready to be “on” for the camera but after about twenty minutes she couldn’t be more over it. You’ll see.

Emily

Yesterday we met Emily for her senior portrait session.  We had such a great time working with her.  She was so comfortable and such a natural in front of the camera even though she claimed to be nervous when she showed up!  It was so hard to pick just a few to share, I love every single one!

Emily is a theater major.  Towards the end of her session she gave us some of her best ballet moves.  I love these three shots.

Don, Rachael, Melanie & Teagan

We had the privilege of once again working with our lovely clients Don & Rachael during our trip to Arizona.  I’ve always wanted to take a couch out to the middle of the desert and use it for a portrait shoot.  If anyone was ever going to help me make it happen it was Rachael and she did with only a few days notice.  I just love this family!  They are so much fun to be around and have the most wonderful spirit about them.  Here are just a few of my favorites.

I’m going to preface this one with, Rachael please don’t hate me!!  I just had to include this because it’s a perfect illustration of how much fun these four have together.  I just love it!

Wide Open Spaces

I realize Utah is populated but the route we have to take to get to Arizona would lead one to believe otherwise.  It’s a gorgeous drive but also can be a little nerve-racking when you don’t even see a gas station for hours.  We stopped for a walk just before sunset.  Here are a few snapshots.
