Although the pouring rain in Breckenridge on Saturday made for some challenging shooting conditions, it only took an umbrella to get some great shots of Kate & Jon following their wedding ceremony. Then it was just icing on the cake when the sun finally made an appearance and we were able to sneak out of the reception for a few more shots. We’ve been getting our fair share of rain these days and I have no complaints. I’ve never seen Colorado as lush as it’s been this past month. There’s definitely no shortage of food for the abundance of wildlife we have around here. Although it drives the dogs crazy, I love seeing the deer and elk hang out in the yard like this guy was the other evening. As long as they stay out of Mark’s garden, they’re more than welcome!
Last week Claire Pettibone, my most favorite wedding dress designer, made a special trip to Colorado for a fashion show featuring her line of wedding dresses and lingerie. The event was hosted by Cate Malone, owner of Little White Dress Bridal Shop. I was honored when Cate asked me to be a part of the show and was so ecstatic to see so many of of Claire’s exquisite designs. Andy & Bonnie had the most beautiful Hawaiian-infused mountain wedding this weekend but first a few of their engagement portraits from last week. It was so great to get the opportunity to meet up for a quick session to meet Andy and his son’s, Josh & Corey, prior to the wedding. Bonnie & Andy are perfect match. They make each other laugh and are just totally in love. We may have had only a small window of opportunity in between the rain showers to take some photos but I think we mad the most of it. The end of June, beginning of July is a time of anniversaries for us. Seven years ago in July Mark & I met at the Art Institute of Colorado and shortly after became college roommates. Five years ago next week IN Photography was created. One year ago today we were married. I can’t say that I’m a very sentimental person and I can’t say I have any exciting plans for us today but I will take this opportunity to say that all the wonderful things that have happened in my life over the last seven years are all because Mark is a part of it. I can’t imagine life any other way.
