Now that we live only an hour from Steamboat Springs, we are there all the time. I’m completely in love with this little town and am excited to start shooting Steamboat Springs weddings! A couple of weeks ago Molly Lotz from Fetcher Ranch was kind enough to give us a tour of the ranch. Fetcher Ranch is located just outside of Steamboat Springs, near Steamboat Lake, and is an unbelievable location for a mountain wedding. I was in awe of the beauty of the ranch and could just picture it as the perfect backdrop for a rustic mountain wedding celebration. Paige & Patrick are the quintessential Colorado couple. They’re fit, fun, love the outdoors, love their dog and are madly in love with each other. And in true Colorado fashion, they met while she was hiking and he was mountain biking at Red Rocks Park. I just love that and I love them! They’re a joy to be around and as you can see, the camera loves them. I’m counting the days to their Keystone wedding in just a few weeks. It should be incredible! I absolutely love Kelly Karli, owner of Frosted Pink Weddings! She is an amazing wedding planner based in Vail, Colorado. She not only has an amazing attention to detail and great sense of style but is just a super fun person to be around. The energy she has is exactly the kind of energy I would want from a coordinator at my wedding. Calm and collected yet enthusiastic and upbeat. You just know she’s going to get the job done and with a smile. It is obvious to me that Kelly absolutely loves what she does and I love that! I was so excited when Kelly asked us to photograph her and her assistant Brittany for some new photos for her website. We had a blast spending the afternoon wandering around Vail Valley. As I’m editing through Paige & Patrick’s engagement photos I’m getting so excited about the outcome that I had to share a little preview. On the way to their shoot I was nervous. As many of you know, we had quite a bit of weather this past weekend. On Friday afternoon on our way to meet Paige & Patrick it was obvious that those predicted storms were making their way to us. It turned out our timing was perfect and we lucked out with the perfect combination of sun and dramatic storm clouds. I’m so thrilled it worked out because I always want our couples to have a great time at their engagement sessions! I’ll have many more of Paige & Patrick’s Lake Dillon engagement session next week!
There are certain things I will miss about living buried deep in the pine trees. However, I won’t miss being cut off from mother nature’s theatrics. Now that we’ve left the trees I’m loving sitting on our deck and watching things like this. What a beautiful night.
