When I was 11 my parents decided to leave L.A. and move to the middle of the Arizona desert. The rest of my childhood was spent plotting my departure. On my 19th birthday I hit the road for Colorado leaving that tiny, secluded town in my dust. I never appreciated anything about the desert until after I left. Although you could not pay me to spend another summer in the 120 degree heat, I find much bliss in Arizona’s mild winters. A place where in January the high is within 5 degrees of our highs at home in the middle of July. During our trip this year we crossed the river to California where we hiked Cupcake Mountain, a mountain sitting in the distance that I thought nothing of growing up, just another brown shape in a sea of brown dirt and blue sky. To my surprise it turned out to be a gorgeous hike that opened my eyes to the beauty of the desert. The many colors I never took the time to really see and the vegetation, although prickly, does exist. Since my expectations were not very high, I figured our little pocket point and shoot would do. Now I’m thinking about going back just so I can photograph this hike properly. Nonetheless, here are a few photos of our hike up Cupcake…

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Jewish weddings? So rich in tradition and the horah, who doesn’t love a good horah?! Rebecca & Ben came from NYC to Breckenridge for their destination wedding last summer. We had not yet met, just exchanged e-mails and phone calls for a few months before the wedding and when we showed up they each could not have been more warm and welcoming. As soon as I met Rebecca she thanked me for being the most organized and easy to reach vendor that they had hired. This was probably the third time a bride told me this last summer and as much as I appreciate the compliment, my thought was, shouldn’t every vendor be organized and easy to reach? Call me crazy, but I kind of thought that was our job. Nonetheless, Rebecca & Ben’s wedding day was flawless and filled with nothing but joy. Some photos from their slope-side wedding in Breckenridge…

I have a lot of passion for my business. I give a lot of myself to my business to create an exceptional experience for my clients. Whenever I meet another person doing the same, I immediately gravitate towards them and have a tremendous amount of respect for them because I know just how dedicated you have to be to achieve this. We only met Lindsey a year ago but I knew immediately that she was one of those people. Lindsey is the owner of One Fine Day Productions in Steamboat. Not only is she a full-time wedding coordinator but florist also. After working together on more than one occasion last summer, we saw first hand just how dedicated she is to each and every wedding that she is a part of. Watching her work is inspiring, she makes it look easy even though there is nothing easy about the hours and the work she puts in to see to it that her clients have the perfect day that they always dreamed of. Steamboat weddings and One Fine Day Productions are synonymous. As soon as you know you plan to get married in Steamboat, Lindsey should be the very first person you call. You’ll be very, very happy you did. Then call us : )
At the Utah/Colorado state line is a huge old, brown sign that says “Welcome to Colorful Colorado”. I love this state more than any other that I’ve ever been to and could describe it in many ways but “colorful”, probably not. However, for two weeks in September the sign lived up to itself and Colorado blew my mind. For those two weeks I didn’t get much work done because I had to be outside, soaking up every moment of it. We went on hikes, scenic drives, did tons of “faux camping”, took tons and tons of photos and just generally enjoyed it while it lasted. Good thing too because now it’s January it’s freezing outside! Some of the shots we took…
