In 1989 I was the kid that answered enthusiastically “a photographer!” to the age old question “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. That holiday season I was trying to figure out what to make my parents for Christmas when it came to me. I’ll take professional photos of my little brother! I drew my inspiration from the C&R Clothiers commercials I often saw on TV. They went something like this. A hard-working, blue-collar man, on the job, sweaty, tired, dirty. That was the before shot. Then it would show the same man, clean, dapper and ready for a night on the town in his C&R Clothiers suit. Luckily my 4 year old brother was totally willing to cooperate, that or I threatened him, either way him and I worked together to make my very first photo shoot a reality. The craziest part of it all is that it’s 23 years later and I’m exactly what I always said I would be. Pretty cool.
