Our second wedding of the season took us to Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur. This sprawling ranch was the ideal setting for a laid-back yet insanely gorgeous Colorado wedding celebration. Nearly two hours of rain didn’t stop us from making a beautiful collection of photographs for Sara & Jed. After the skies cleared they were treated to a picturesque Colorado afternoon that was easily enjoyed thanks to the great indoor/outdoor setting at Spruce Mountain.

What you don’t see in this photograph is Mark & I, in our rain gear, standing in the rain taking all the formal photographs while everyone else remains dry. We never know exactly what Colorado is going to throw at us on any given day but I can tell you that we’re always prepared to work with what we’ve got and make the very best of it.
Sara & Jed are avid mountain bikers, we actually photographed them mountain biking for their engagement portrait session, so this bike was a perfect representation of one of their combined passions.

What a stunning group of women. They made our job easy!
Sara was flawless. I love the opportunity to make a bridal portrait that reflects a Bride’s perfection and glow on the best day of her life:

Angela from Bella Lu Floral knocked our socks off with her amazing transformation of Albert’s Lodge @ Spruce Mountain. Every detail was impeccable, a perfect representation of Sara’s exquisite taste.

The rain may have moved the ceremony indoors but Albert’s Lodge made for an equally beautiful Plan B.
Cocktail hour at Spruce Mountain Ranch:
Dinner begins in Albert’s Lodge:
One of Sara’s requests was for sun-drenched, back-lit photos of her and Jed. We snuck away with them for five more minutes during dinner to take advantage of the light that would allow us to create these types of photos. By this time the clouds were closing in again but we timed it perfectly to make the most of the last bit of light of the day.

I’m in love with the way the indoors and outdoors flow together so seamlessly at Albert’s Lodge.
