With most of our weddings being destination weddings, we don’t get to meet many of our couples until the day of. This leaves an element of surprise as to what the day will be like and what kinds of personalities we’ll be working with. From the moment we met Stephanie & Collin and their bridal party, we had no doubt it was going to be a rockin’ party. Even amidst a downpour an hour prior to the ceremony, everyone was having a great time. I think Stephanie & Collin did an awesome job of soaking up every moment of their day and not stressing over the small stuff. Here’s a peek at their Breckenridge wedding on Peak 7!
What was your favorite part of the day?
Stephanie: Walking down the aisle and the reception… we had everyone we loved the most in one location. It was awesome to celebrate with the people that meant the most to us.
Collin: The reception.
What was the best part about marrying in the mountains?
Stephanie: Most of our guests were from Texas, so everyone was excited to leave the heat and visit the mountains. Because of this, most guests arrived early and stayed a few days later. This gave us time to spend with everyone. Because we were in Breckenridge, there was so much to do within walking distance. We hiked, went on beer tours, horse back riding, etc. Additionally, you don’t need many flowers or decorations, the mountains supply all the decor you need. We also have great photos!
Collin: The views, the foxes showing up and it’s a reason to to have a s’mores bar.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before your wedding?
Stephanie: Don’t stress about the small stuff. As long as you are married at the end of the day, none of the other stuff matters.
Collin: Your guests wills enjoy themselves as long as you are having fun, so don’t stress.
If you could do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Stephanie: Nothing. I loved everything about my wedding day.
Collin: Because we did most photos before the ceremony, I would have shortened cocktail hour.
Any advice for couples planning their mountain weddings?
Stephanie: I was so stressed about transportation, the gondola and the weather. And all for nothing, everything worked out perfectly. Also, your guests will figure most things out and the concierge at the hotel can help point them in the right direction.
Collin: Have a plan B, the weather changes quickly.
