I’m not sure how many times we were at Timber Ridge in Keystone this summer but it’s never too many. When asked what I do for a living, my response is typically “I photograph Rocky Mountain weddings. On any given weekend you’ll find me at a ranch or on a mountain.” Whenever I find myself on top of a mountain for work, I find it hard to call it work. You can also count on any couple that’s chosen to marry on top of a mountain to be pretty cool. Enter Logan & Matt. These two are the epitome of cool. They whole-heartedly embody our slogan. They’re madly in love with life, each other and the great outdoors. We couldn’t be more honored to have been given the opportunity to document their celebration. Congratulations you two! Now on to the photos!
How gorgeous is that chuppah?!
Everything about this photo makes me smile.
Kenny & Matt anxiously awaiting Logan’s arrival for their First Look on Dercum Mountain before taking the second gondola to Timber Ridge.
Logan designed this gorgeous dress herself, how cool is that?!
An intimate gathering of immediate family members for the ketubah signing before walking down the aisle. This Jewish tradition is a favorite of mine.
That chuppah and that dress, the afternoon light, the vows. Love, love, love.
Below: Kenny giving the toast of the year.
Cheers to an incredible day in the mountains!
In one sentence, how would you describe your wedding day?
Logan: Our wedding was absolutely perfect as we were surrounded by so much love, food, dancing, and beautiful scenery.
Matt: Our wedding day was beyond perfect, weather was great, stress levels were low and there were lots of smiling faces!
What was your favorite part of the day?
Logan: The best part of my day was marrying the love of my life in a perfect setting.
Matt: Well, obviously standing next to my wife as we said our vows, but besides that the awesome music and dancing.
Are you glad you decided to see each other prior to the ceremony?
Logan: Yes, it was so great to see each other ahead of the ceremony so that we could really take advantage of the cocktail hour and mingling after the ceremony. It was also nice because the “shock factor” could be captured in a private and intimate setting.
Matt: Yes, it was a great idea. It helped to keep stress levels down and gave us time to talk and laugh before the wedding.
What was the best part about marrying in the mountains?
Logan: The scenery, the weather, and the pictures! We also absolutely loved having the gondola take us to and from the wedding.
Matt: The views are amazing up there. We love our Colorado mountains and it was such a joy to be able to share the mountains with our family from the flat land!
What do you know now that you wish you had known before your wedding?
Logan: That the weather was going to be absolutely perfect!
Matt: That NO ONE would be scared about riding on the gondola, including my 90-year-old Grandma.
If you could do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Logan: Nothing. It was literally the best day of my life. All of the planning and research paid off big time!!!
Matt: Nothing at all, the people we hired were amazing, the venue was gorgeous and I had the best day of my life.
Any advice for couples planning their mountain weddings?
Logan: Use all the vendors that we chose, because everything turned out perfectly!
Matt: Just go with it, trust the people you have to help and know that at the end of the day no matter what you will be marrying the person of your dreams.
