On any given weekend of the summer, you’ll find us either at a resort on top of a mountain or a ranch in the valley below photographing a stunning Colorado wedding. If we had to choose between ski resort weddings and ranch weddings, I don’t know that we could. Each are so unique yet so phenomenal in their own right. Colorado has a very long list of truly remarkable wedding venues, many of which we are lucky to work at every year. This is a list of 5 of our most favorite Colorado Ranch Wedding Venues plus a wish list of where we hope to shoot next!
1. Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Tabernash, Colorado.
The perfect year-round location for a quintessential Colorado ranch wedding. We’ve photographed weddings at Devil’s Thumb Ranch every season of the year and would have a hard time choosing a favorite. If you’re looking for a rustic setting with all the luxuries of a 5 star resort, this is your ranch. Check out many more Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding photos here.
2. Gorrono Ranch. Telluride, Colorado. Telluride may be one of the most picturesque places in Colorado. Situated on the ski runs of Telluride Ski Resort is Gorrono Ranch. Towering mountain peaks in every direction leave you feeling as if you’re standing smack dab in the middle of a postcard. Tying the knot at Gorrono Ranch will leave you and your guests with an experience that won’t soon be forgotten. Check out more Gorrono Ranch wedding photos here.
3. Catamount Ranch. Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Whenever I hear ranch wedding I think Steamboat Springs. Some of Colorado’s best ranch wedding venues are in Steamboat and Steamboat is one of Colorado’s coolest towns. The Lake House at Catamount Ranch sits on the water’s edge of Catamount Lake providing a serene, stunning setting for your Colorado wedding. Check out more Catamount Ranch wedding photos here.
4. Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch. Larkspur, Colorado.
This stunning, sprawling property offers all the beauty of Colorado without having to trek high in to the mountain to enjoy it. Spruce Mountain Ranch is conveniently located 45 minutes outside of Denver but feels like a world away. My favorite part of this venue are the huge doors that open from the reception space out to a gorgeous patio. The perfect way to enjoy a gorgeous summer evening in Colorado. Check out more Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding photos here.
5. Piney River Ranch. Vail, Colorado.
Located 45 minutes down a bumpy dirt road from Vail, your first trip to Piney River Ranch will leave you wondering where in the world you’re going. But once you arrive, your jaw will drop. Piney River Ranch is situated perfectly at the base of the mighty Gore Range and may just be one of the most beautiful places you’ve ever seen. If you want a real, authentic Colorado experience, this is your ranch.
6. Flying Diamond Ranch. Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
This is a new venue to Steamboat Springs that we had the pleasure of touring last fall. It quickly jumped to the top of our wish list of places we’re eager to work at. Flying Diamond is a truly stunning ranch with a wide range of opportunities to take this one-of-a-kind property and design your dream wedding. The aspen groves will make you swoon and the sprawling views of the Yampa Valley will make you never want to leave. We can’t wait to photograph a wedding here!
Speaking of wish lists, several other ranches throughout Colorado are on our venue wish list. Here are a few places that we would absolutely love to have the opportunity to photograph! If you’re interested in a Colorado ranch wedding, be sure to check these out as well as the ones listed above:
