Holy moly, how is it September 12th already?! 2016 is flying by at warp speed and this blog is getting left in the dust! We have had in incredible albeit unbelievably busy summer with one drop-dead gorgeous wedding after another. While every year we photograph weddings at a wide variety of Colorado’s destination wedding venues, there is always one venue that we seem to be at more than the rest. A few years ago it was Ten Mile Station, last year it was Timber Ridge, next year it’s looking like it will be Devil’s Thumb Ranch. This year it was the one-and-only Beano’s Cabin. This extraordinary location combined with a gorgeous Colorado day, one of Colorado’s best live bands and a super cool, crazy-in-love couple, made for nothing short of a perfect, outrageously fun and heartfelt day. Here is a little peek at Tory & John’s Beaver Creek wedding and be sure to check out our Q&A at the bottom of this post to get their perspective on their mountain wedding!
In one sentence, how would you describe your wedding day?
Tory – Our wedding magical day in the mountains surrounded with our closest family and friends.
John – Our wedding day was the most beautiful and gratifying day of my life.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Tory – The entire ceremony (walking down the aisle with my Dad and my brother reading) and especially doing the Dirty Dancing lift on the dance floor in front of everyone.
John – Standing on the speaker singing Whitesnake’s Here I Go Again On My Own.
What was the best part about marrying in the mountains?
Tory – The gorgeous landscape – green everywhere, wild flowers, the deer that showed up at our ceremony!
John – Seeing something beautiful no matter where you looked.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before your wedding?
Tory – I knew the day and week would go by fast, but it went even faster then I thought. Make sure to make memories with your husband throughout the night to make memories together.
John – How little of an appetite I would have.
If you could do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
Tory – I wish I would have eaten more of the amazing Beano’s food and dessert.
John – I would make sure to personally thank all of my guests for being there.
Any advice for couples planning their mountain weddings?
Tory – Plan early so the week of your wedding you can relax and take in Colorado.
John – Remind your guests to hydrate and don’t let your friends completely over do it with drinking in the high altitude.
