We are beyond blessed to work, live and play in the mountains and photograph weddings at many of Colorado’s premier destination wedding locations.  Every location from Vail to Telluride and everywhere in between offers it’s own unique jaw-dropping experience.  Of all the ski resorts and their many drool-worthy photo ops, Steamboat Ski Resort has one thing most do not…the opportunity for an incredible sunset.  I should preface this by saying, sunset is my thing.  I will drop everything I’m doing, put my life on hold, to relish in a beautiful sunset.  If I’m somewhere new and the sky is putting on a show, I take pictures like they’re going out of style.  I go…nuts.  Their is nothing quite like the sun getting low in the sky, casting long shadows across the earth and turning everything magnificent shades of orange and magenta in it’s path.  As much as I love living and working in the mountains, there is one drawback, the mountains are so tall and most venues are nestled in so close to them that they don’t offer much opportunity for a sunset.  At least not the kind where the sun is low enough in the sky for us photographers to play with techniques such as silhouettes and rim lighting.  By no means am I complaining here!  But while photographing Emily & Brendon’s wedding at Steamboat Ski Resort last weekend I got quite excited when I remembered just how perfect of a sunset this location provides.  With that, here is a little sneak peek at some sunset photos with Emily & Brendon!
