My Adventures In Cooking

I come from a long line of good cooks, my mom, my aunts, they’ve all got it goin’ on in the kitchen but for some reason I never got the desire, let alone talent to cook.  I was lucky enough to marry a man that doesn’t mind cooking but he doesn’t love it.  So this winter I’m making it my goal to at least give it a shot.  Tackling the world of cooking is like learning a foreign language to me so I’m starting off easy,  kraftfoods.com and bettycrocker.com are my friends right now as that’s where I’ve found the easiest recipes.  I’ve subcribed to Rachael Ray but I don’t think I’m quite at that level yet.  Yes folks, I’m that bad, I’ve actually ruined instant rice.  It doesn’t do so well in the microwave for six minutes without water!  So as I embark on this somewhat dangerous journey I would like to share my favorite meal with you every week.  Got any good recipes?  Please share!  Figuring out what to cook can be half the battle for me.

My favorite recipe for this week is Saucy Chicken Italiano, straight from kraftfoods.com.  Click here for the recipe.  It was actually quite easy to make with few ingredients and was absolutely delicious!

Check in next week for more and wish me luck!

Ten Mile Station Wedding Photography

We get the opportunity to shoot a lot at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge and it’s by far one of our favorite places to work.  Ten Mile Station is located on Peak 9 in Breckenridge, the location and views are one of a kind.  For those of you planning your weddings that have booked Ten Mile Station or are considering it, check out this slideshow I put together for some great visual inspiration.  Enjoy!

Lazy Dogs

Someone brought to my attention the other day the fact that I haven’t posted any photos of the dogs lately.  All I can say is Cozmo & Kaia are best buds and it’s awesome how far Kaia’s come in the year that we’ve had her.  My mom can hardly believe that they ever cuddle, so this one is for you mom!

Cozmo has taught Kaia the glory of pillows.

Happy Halloween!

Have a fun and safe holiday and enjoy the beautiful weekend!

Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book

You may remember my post about Style Me Pretty, the ultimate wedding blog, earlier this year.  I discovered the site while planning my own wedding and it was such an awesome source of visual inspiration.  I still frequent the site often just for all the eye candy that Abby has to share with her readers week after week.  In addition to Style Me Pretty’s site, Abby created the Little Black Book which features the best wedding vendors across the country.  Abby hand picks three vendors per category per state.  We were incredibly flattered earlier this summer when we were invited to be a part of Style Me Pretty’s little black book.  We have also had some of our photos featured on her blog since.  Style Me Pretty and the Little Black Book are such awesome resources for brides planning their weddings today.  I highly recommend checking it out on a regular basis!

Brad & Jill in Morrison

We had such a great time with Brad & Jill photographing their engagement portraits earlier this month.  They are such a fun, easy-going couple and I know their Beaver Creek wedding next year is going to be an absolute blast!  Continue reading ‘Brad & Jill in Morrison’

Nate & Kelly in Golden

We just had the most awesome weekend and everything fell perfectly in to place for Nate & Kelly’s engagement portrait session.  It can be tricky trying to plan a fall engagement portrait session in advance but in this case it was the perfect time of year and the perfect time of day and to top it all off, a gorgeous fun couple.  We met up in Golden and took a stroll along Clear Creek for the quintessential fall engagement portrait session.  We’re excited for their summer wedding at the Maggie in Breckenridge next year, it’s going to be beautiful!  Continue reading ‘Nate & Kelly in Golden’

Caroline & Andy in Dillon

Gorgeous days are abundant in Summit County but last week was exceptional when we met up with Caroline & Andy for their engagement portraits.  It’s that rare time of year when summer is over and ski season has yet to start and only the locals can be found in Summit County.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lake Dillon quite as blue as it was on this day.  Between that and the bright yellow aspens, it was the perfect day for engagement portraits.  We can’t wait for Caroline & Andy’s wedding next summer at Keystone Ranch! Theresa & Jamie @ The Sundeck in Aspen

I’ve seen some pretty spectacular wedding locations here in Colorado but I think the Wedding Deck atop Aspen Mountain may be the most spectacular yet.  Although it was absolutely freezing I was thrilled that the looming storm held off so that the ceremony didn’t have to get moved inside.  The fall colors and the Elk Range in the background were drop dead gorgeous.  A fun-filled reception followed at the Sundeck.  With a surprise streaker and wigs and costumes showing up on the dance floor mid-reception, there wasn’t a dull moment!  Congratulations Theresa & Jamie!
