Happy Friday everyone! I’m so excited to share Shannon & Brian’s stunning wedding from one of our most favorite Colorado venues, Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek. Shannon & Brian have exquisite taste, are crazy about one another and were surrounded by so much love on their wedding day. Congratulations to this beautiful couple! Here’s a look inside their phenomenal day…
In one sentence, how would you describe your wedding day?
Our wedding day was as wonderful as I had hoped! From the moment we woke up to sitting on the back of the bus headed down the mountain with my new husband at the end of the night, everything was wonderful.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Brian and I’s first act as a married couple after we said our vows was to serve communion to all our guests. Getting to have that face to face moment with every person who had shaped and built us to that day was something I will never forget.
How did you decide on doing a First Look and are you glad you did?
Brian is really good at keeping me calm when I get jittery so I know that I wanted to see him before the big walk down the aisle. We wrote special letters of promises that we read aloud to each other. I am so glad that we got to have that moment of just the two of us to be able to take a deep breath together and get excited for the rest of the day.
What was the best part about marrying in the mountains?
Getting to feel like it was just us in God’s nature was the best part of the mountains. Having all our nearest and dearest in what felt like a little mountain oasis was extremely special. And of course having two deer walk into the meadow right before I walked down the aisle was pretty unforgettable!!
What do you know now that you wish you had known before your wedding?
Having been in a number of weddings and having been in the industry for a short while I felt pretty confidant about my expectations. While we had a few minor mishaps (one of the buses forgot the gate code to get up the mountain!) I feel like Brian and I really sat back and enjoyed the experience together. And our planner, Carolyn Moorman with Artisan Events, made sure everything ran smoothly.
If you could do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
I don’t think so! Our goal was to make the ceremony a true worship service, the dinner like your favorite dinner party and the dancing like your best version of prom. I feel like we succeeded on all three and everyone had a blast.
Any advice for couples planning their mountain weddings?
Surround yourself with amazing vendors (like IN Photography!) and then step back and let them do their job. It was the most freeing feeling to really trust everyone’s vision and know that they had our best interest at heart.
