Misty & Brandon’s fast & frigid engagement portrait session

It was five degrees out, not including windchill, and yet Misty & Brandon didn’t seem phased. I don’t see how that’s possible being that they live in Las Vegas. We’d never met and yet it took me two minutes to learn that these two are fun, are totally in love and the camera loves them. Good thing too because it only took about ten minutes for me to completely lose feeling in my fingers. I’ll shoot in any weather condition and give it my all but once I can’t feel my fingers it’s game over. We still managed to get some great shots and after hitting it off over coffee afterwards I am beyond excited for Misty & Brandon’s destination wedding in September. These two are super cool and their wedding is going to be amazing!

For the first time in six years of blogging (wow, I just realized that this month is the sixth year anniversary of this blog!), I’ve gotten a little out of order with my posts. However, with it now being the dead of winter, I thought it would be refreshing to bring back some fall colors. Since my favorite season of the year only lasts two weeks in the Rocky Mountains, if we’re lucky, this is my way of dragging it out : ) Here’s a little peak at our engagement portrait session with Allison & John in October.

Tatum & Andy’s Silverthorne Engagement Portraits

Tatum & Andy’s request was for a snowy engagement portrait session. We were scheduled to meet outside of Silverthorne in December so snow was definitely not a concern. Come the first week of December I’m stumped that Denver is getting all the snow. What the heck? Once it’s cold out all I want is snow. So far there was a little snow here and there in Silverthorne but it was still looking all brown and ugly out. I was quite delighted the morning of the shoot to wake up to about 1/2″ of new snow. It’s not much but it’s enough to cover up the ugly. That and we knew if Tatum & Andy were up for it, we could find more snow, and that’s what we did. If my clients want snow I will give them snow! Here’s a little peek at some of the shots from that day…

Engagement Portrait Guest Books

I feel like last year nearly all our couples purchased an engagement portrait guest book and I’m so happy they did. Engagement portrait sessions are always just a fun, laid-back, get-to-know-you afternoon spent with our clients and at the end we always walk away having captured some beautiful images and fun moments. However, many people are not quite sure what to do with all these photos. The guest book is the perfect answer to this and always a much more modern, fun replacement to the traditional sign in book. In a span of 20 pages, we create an album filled with your favorite engagement portraits along with room for your guests to sign on or around the photos. After all is said and done, you have an album full of photos you’ll be excited to look back on year after year along with messages from your family and friends on your wedding day.
