About 30 minutes from our house is this ridge in Eagles Nest Wilderness. To say it’s incredible, amazing, unbelievable is an understatement. For a while you just hike through the desolate tundra and can’t see anything but blue sky and white puffy clouds. Then, all of a sudden, you crest the hill and there it is…the entire world. That feeling you get when you literally feel like you’re standing on top of the world is unlike any other. I don’t have a list of things I want to do before I die but if you do, add this to it. Whether you hike, drive, snowmobile or otherwise, stand on top of a mountain. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

If you’d rather not see sunset photos here on the blog, speak now or forever hold your peace. The sunsets around here are pretty amazing. I love this shot that Mark took a couple weeks ago just up the road from our house. I’m sure there will be many more to come in the future. Maybe one of these days we’ll get up early enough to snap a sunrise!

There are certain things I will miss about living buried deep in the pine trees. However, I won’t miss being cut off from mother nature’s theatrics. Now that we’ve left the trees I’m loving sitting on our deck and watching things like this. What a beautiful night.
After many years and many moves trying to find the perfect place to call home we’ve settled down and purchased our first home. If you read my post a few week ago, you know that we’ve been under contract on a house for several weeks now but finally it’s official, we’re homeowners! Mark & I love change and we love moving around, so for many years now I’ve said the commitment of marriage does not freak me out in any way but the commitment of buying a home totally freaks me out! I can take Mark with me anywhere but a home means staying put for a while. For four years now we’ve established a pretty amazing life and business here in the Rocky Mountains so I’ve left the fear behind and am pretty excited to be planting roots in such an incredible place. So, in two days we’re packing up the truck and moving an hour and a half up the road to our new home in Silverthorne, CO. Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll have some fun photos to share!
