George & Jessica’s Breckenridge Engagement Portrait Session

Many of the weddings we photograph are destination weddings so it is not uncommon for us to book via phone or e-mail without meeting the couple in person first.  We often will meet the couple for the first time at their engagement portrait session and we have no idea what to expect.  Will they be nervous, excited, will we have a lot to talk about, what’s their style?  George & Jessica showed up to their shoot on a gorgeous afternoon in Breckenridge and had been traveling since 4am.  I expected them to be exhausted and anxious to get through the shoot quickly but they were the coolest, most easy-going couple.  We totally hit it off, had a blast getting some great shots and cannot wait for their Breckenridge wedding in March.  They also came to town just in time to enjoy Colorado’s shortest but most beautiful season.  Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement portrait session.

Sevens Wedding Photography: A Wedding Album

I haven’t shared an album design for a while now and thought I would share Mallory & Brian’s layout  from their Breckenridge wedding at Sevens in July.  My goal with every album layout I do is to keep the design sleek and simple and let the photos speak for the themselves.  Since Mallory & Brian had a destination wedding, we also made a point to photograph the surroundings which made for great detail elements in this particular design.  Check it out! Steamboat Springs Wedding Photographer: Kelly & Jerry

Oh how I long for summer looking at these photos from Kelly & Jerry’s Steamboat Springs wedding in September.  Only six more months of winter and it will look like that again!  The setting at the top of the gondola in Steamboat is nothing short of spectacular.  Steamboat, with it’s slightly lower elevation than many other Colorado ski resorts, has it’s ski runs carved out of the aspen trees rather than pines.  It’s quite unique and absolutely stunning.  I have tons of photos to share so let’s get right to it!

The Boulton Family

You may recognize Kim & Rich.  This isn’t their first time on the blog or their second.  In 2009 we photographed their Evergreen wedding and immediately after became close friends.  Although it’s only been two years, I feel like we’ve known them forever and am so grateful to call them friends.  In April Kim called to tell me that her and Rich were expecting.  I was not at all surprised since they have been eager to start a family, however I was shocked when she told me that she was expecting twins!  Continue reading ‘The Boulton Family’
