Every year we shoot thousands and thousands of photographs so at this time of year I love to look back at everywhere we’ve been and everyone we’ve met. Our engagement portrait shoots took us everywhere from downtown Steamboat to Heeney to the Vail rest area. From freezing temps to perfect fall days. It’s been quite a year and I can only dream that 2012 will live up to all that has been 2011. As we close out the year, here’s a slideshow of just a few of our favorite engagement portraits of 2011. I can only describe Rachel & Matt’s engagement portrait session as pure fun! It felt more like an afternoon hike with friends than a photo shoot. This was a very special engagement session for me. Earlier this year when I saw on Facebook that my best friend from high school was FINALLY engaged to the guy she’s been with for 10 years (yes ten years!) I was secretly holding my breath hoping that she would want us to be a part of it. Needless to say when I received the e-mail in my inbox asking if we were available on April 9th of next year, I was ecstatic. Nikki & I each went our own ways after high school and lost touch, so to reconnect in this way had me through the roof excited. For a photographer there’s nothing better than great timing. Not only did we luck out with the peak fall colors and perfect time of day but we got to photograph an incredibly cool couple on top of it. We had a blast wandering the streets of Breckenridge with Dade & Michaela and could not be more excited for their Evergreen wedding next summer! I’ve realized that with every post I do lately, I’m wanting to start with the words “This is my all-time favorite couple”. Since favorite loses it’s meaning if I call them all my favorite, I guess this means 2010 is my most favorite year in business. Our clients have always been awesome but there is something about this year that is extra special. All our couples this year feel like long lost friends. People I just love to be around. Landon & Greg are definitely the epitome of that. I feel like the image above captures their spirits perfectly. They both have this wonderful energy about them, they are fun, up for anything and just love life. In June, as expected, we had a super fun shoot followed by lunch in Breckenridge. I have to say, I wish they lived closer because I definitely could enjoy hanging out with these two on a regular basis!
