This Spring was temperamental in Evergreen. We had to reschedule Chad & Nicole’s engagement session three times. So when we finally were able to make it work I was ecstatic that the weather was perfect. I always tell my couples that I don’t want to just tolerate the weather for the sake of getting their session done. If we have to wait for the perfect day, we’ll wait because I want them to have a great time. And a great time is exactly what we had with Chad & Nicole. The setting was Evergreen Lake House, which will also serve as the backdrop for their Evergreen wedding in August. I can wait! From the very moment we met Kimberly & Richard we hit it off with them. Not only do they love Evergreen as much as we do but their wedding was set to take place at Evergreen Lake House, the same place we had our wedding reception last year. I could sit and talk with Kimberly and Richard for hours. They are fun, laid-back, incredibly kind and best of all they have a great love story. During a trip to England Kimberly and her best friend Stella met Richard and his best friend Ryan. For fear of not getting it just right I will leave out the details but obviously Kimberly & Richard fell in love, but not only did they fall in love, Stella & Ryan fell in love as well. Richard moved to the U.S. to be with Kimberly and Stella moved to England to be with Ryan. It could not have been a more perfect fit that Stella was Kimberly’s maid of honor and Ryan was Richard’s best man. Dan & Jessica were married at the most beautiful, private location earlier this month. Their wedding took place on a bluff overlooking Mount Evans in Evergreen. The best part-it’s their very own backyard! Their wedding was a huge labor of love. Dan & Jessica had the vision and their family and friends were their to help their vision become a reality. Their wedding was such an intimate affair and I love all the personal details that Jessica infused into their day.

We’re shooting weddings at several killer locations this year but my guess is that Dan & Jessica’s Evergreen wedding is going to be my favorite. We were lucky enough to get a preview of the location when we met up with them for their engagement portrait session. Their wedding will take place on the property they live on where there are unobstructed views of Mt. Evans and not a neighbor in sight. Dan & Jessica are such a super cool couple, I can’t wait for the wedding!
