Alexis & Akos’ wedding proved that rain is nothing to fret about because with rain comes rainbows. It was the only rain we saw the entire month of September and it’s timing was perfect, ending just before the ceremony began. The fresh smell of rain, the stunningly clear mountain backdrop and…the rainbow. Another picture perfect day in Colorado. Congratulations Alexis & Akos!
How would you describe your wedding day?
As cheesy as it sounds, I would describe the day as magical. It was so wonderful to have family and friends come together in one beautiful place to celebrate our love and future together.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Tough call. I loved seeing almost every one get out on the dance floor. The rainbow before the ceremony was also epic.
What was the best part about marrying in the mountains?
It was a perfect Colorado mountain day complete with sunshine, rain, rainbows and breathtaking views. It was such a treat to get to show our family and friends from out of town why we rave so much about living in Colorado.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before your wedding?
I had been told that we would be surprised by how quickly the time passed and we would feel as if we did not get spend any where near as much time with our individual guests as we would want, but it was still a surprise to experience how quickly it was all over.
If you could do it all over again, would you do anything differently?
If time had allowed, I wish we had taken a few minutes before guests arrived to walk around the venue to appreciate the fruition of months of planning.
Any advice for couples planning their mountain weddings?
-It was invaluable to have day of wedding planners to take care of the set-up for the ceremony and reception and make sure the event ran smoothly, so we could enjoy the celebration.
-Make sure your guests are ready for a wide range of temperature and weather conditions.
-Consider limiting the hotel locations your guests stay at to two or at most three options as it is nice to have everyone in a central location.
-Make sure guests are prepared for traffic on the I-70 corridor, especially when trying to make flights out of DIA.
